Where do we have sessions? |
1. In-person sessions in our Blue Bell office location
2. Virtual: I recommend choosing a location where you feel safe and secure both physically and emotionally -- a place where you can sit comfortably, where it is quiet with minimal distractions, and where you can speak freely. 3. In-Home: I find that for children and teens, in person therapy often is best. The opportunity for me to work with clients in their own homes has enhanced the therapeutic experience for my clients and I am proud to offer this service to families who are comfortable with this option. |
I'm new to therapy. What's it like? |
Great question! Therapy is typically weekly. The client and I will work together to identify the goals of therapy and we will check our progress against these goals. Therapy is sometimes thought of as just a place to "vent" and that can absolutely be a cathartic part of the process — but therapy is also hard work. I’m here to guide you through skill building, new ways of thinking, and changing unhelpful behavioral patterns. It is my hope that I’m creating a space that feels safe and nonjudgmental in which you can do this work.

Is therapy confidential? |
Absolutely! I follow the standards of HIPAA which state that all therapy is confidential and private. I am a mandated reporter, which means that I am required to break confidentiality if there is a risk of harm to self or others, or report of harm to a minor. The educational workshops that I host do not fall under the category of therapy but I continue to maintain privacy and confidentiality in those sessions as well, and ask that all attendees do the same for their fellow participants.
