I'm Sandi Christiansen (she/her/hers), a Licensed Professional Counselor through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at Saint Joseph's University, and my Master's in Clinical & Counseling Psychology at Chestnut Hill College with a specialization in Child & Adolescent Counseling.
I have been licensed since 2010, and have been working in the field of mental health and substance use disorders for almost 15 years. While I have extensive experience with adults, my heart has always been with the younger population; working with kids, teens, and young adults is a privilege and one that I truly enjoy and appreciate. It is a big decision to entrust a stranger with your innermost thoughts, your overwhelming emotions, or the mind of your child. I recognize the vulnerability and strength it takes to decide to start going to therapy and begin making changes. I work within a strength-based, cognitive behavioral approach (CBT), with a significant emphasis on Cognitive Restructuring -- changing your patterns of thinking. I maintain unconditional positive regard for my clients, and offer what I hope will become a safe space for people to talk about difficult things and set achievable, measurable, positive goals for their futures. If any of this resonates with you, we might be a good fit to work together. Please feel comfortable reaching out to set up a complimentary 15 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you find your next step. Take care of yourself, Sandi |
